A family in Northridge, CA (91325) is seeking an experienced long-term Night Nanny to provide primary night care for their three children, ages 10, 7, and 4, beginning immediately. Two of the children (ages 7 and 10) are on the autism spectrum and are high-functioning in general education classrooms. The family places a strong emphasis on teaching their children respect for themselves and one another, honesty, and responsibility, and they are seeking a caregiver who naturally models and reinforces these values with warmth and consistency.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 9:30 PM · Most Saturdays, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM · Flexibility for occasional adjustments as needed
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Show up on time and assist with light cleaning of kids’ areas and related tasks before children come home
- Pick up children from school, shuttle to necessary activities, and return home safely
- Prepare meals and snacks for children
- Assist with bedtime routines, including baths, administering medicines if needed, brushing teeth.
- Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally supportive care for the children
- Use redirection and creativity with motivational techniques to support positive behavior and maintain routines
- Must know how to swim, as the family has a pool
The ideal candidate is a female who is creative, punctual, responsible, reliable, and honest, and who knows how to swim, as the family has a pool. She is collaborative and supportive, respecting the family hierarchy – thoughtful input is welcome, but final decisions rest with mom and dad. This person is enthusiastic about acting as a “mommy’s helper,” assisting with daily routines and household tasks. She is experienced or comfortable caring for children on the autism spectrum and can maintain a calm, regulated presence in a household. The ideal candidate is patient, consistent, adaptable, and attentive, engaging with the children creatively and positively while supporting their individual needs.
Must be fully vaccinated: (TDAP, TB test, COVID (first two doses), first and second COVID boosters, and seasonal flu vaccine)
Compensation: $27 – $30/h
