Postpartum Doula or Newborn Care Specialist
A loving family in Woodmere, NY (11598) is seeking a calm and experienced Postpartum Doula or Newborn Care Specialist to provide overnight support as they welcome their baby.
Note: C-section date is in process to be confirmed, so services may begin 1-2 weeks sooner.
Their preferred schedule is: Beginning one week after the baby’s birth
8 hours a night, 5 nights a week, for 4 weeks
8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 2 weeks
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide overnight newborn care, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and sleep support
- Assist with breastfeeding, including latching guidance and gentle encouragement
- Offer emotional and physical support to mom during her recovery from a C-section
- Track infant feeding/sleeping patterns and share updates with parents as requested
- Maintain a quiet, respectful overnight presence, prioritizing rest and recovery for the family
- Must be comfortable with dogs in the home
The ideal candidate is a calm, nurturing, and highly experienced postpartum care professional who brings confidence and warmth into the home. Someone discreet and respectful, who understands the dynamics of working with high-profile families, has strong communication and a proactive approach. A gentle presence during the overnight hours, prioritizing the family’s rest while ensuring attentive and expert care for the newborn. Comfort around dogs is essential, and flexibility with the start date is appreciated.
Must be vaccinated (TDAP, TB test)
Compensation: Starting at $40/hr, depending on experience
