Samantha was an absolute dream to work with. She possesses mastery over her skills and artfully employs her techniques. Samantha is grounded, warm, kind, loving, and incredibly effective at what she does. We employed her for 2 weeks to sleep train our baby. Before hiring Samantha, I was bed sharing and nursing my baby to sleep for 13 months. She was waking up every hour and I was in the depths of sleep deprivation. Within a few days, Samantha had successfully trained baby to sleep in the crib, days later she slept through the night, and by the end of her 2 week course, every member of the household was trained by Samantha on the sleep protocol. Baby now sleeps 8-10 hours throughout the night, in her crib, and sanity, sleep and joy was restored to the household. Samantha communicates very well, and throughout the course of our training, she would provide us with details on the night, tips and tools for us to employ, and was even available after the training to answer questions and provide further guidance. Samantha was a pleasure to host in our home, she is very professional, considerate, and courteous. I highly recommend her.Posted on Google Sanjay NagarTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I found the right caregiver for our family using the Cradle Company. After an extremely challenging pregnancy and birth, we needed extra postpartum support, and the Cradle Company came through for us in a big way. They were compassionate, skilled, and highly professional. I especially recommend sleep coaching for the baby, although it’s really coaching for the parents.Posted on Google Samantha AndersonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Have questions? We’ve got answers! Find out everything you need to know about a newborn care specialist, how it works, and what to expect.
A newborn care specialist (NCS) is a trained professional who focuses entirely on the needs of your newborn and your family in the early weeks and months after birth. They provide hands-on care, guidance, and education to help you navigate feeding, sleep routines, soothing techniques, and baby development. They also support San Diego parents in building confidence with newborn care, ensuring you feel rested, informed, and supported.
While a nanny provides ongoing childcare for children of various ages, and a night nanny primarily assists with nighttime feedings and sleep, a newborn care specialist is specifically trained in infant care during the first few months of life. They bring expertise in areas like feeding (breast, bottle, or combination), infant sleep habits, postpartum recovery support, and common newborn challenges such as reflux or colic. Their role is short-term and focused on giving your baby — and you — the best possible start.
We recommend booking as early as your second trimester, especially if you’d like guaranteed availability for your baby’s arrival. Many San Diego families secure an NCS well in advance to ensure a smooth postpartum transition. However, if your baby is already here, we can still help; we’ll do our best to match you with a qualified specialist as soon as possible.
Yes. Many families choose overnight newborn care in San Diego so they can get restorative sleep while knowing their baby is in expert hands. Overnight, your specialist will handle feedings, diaper changes, and soothing so you can rest. If you’re breastfeeding, they can bring the baby to you for feeds and handle all the settling afterwards, making nighttime care easier and more restful.
Yes — but in the early weeks, our focus is on laying healthy sleep foundations rather than formal sleep training. A newborn care specialist can help establish gentle routines, recognize your baby’s sleep cues, and create an environment that encourages longer stretches of rest. When your baby is developmentally ready, they can guide you through age-appropriate sleep training methods that align with your parenting style.
